A Manhattan duplex gets a makeover with a kitchen renovation that opens the space to the rest of the living area on the first floor. Despite a structural challenge, the Archetype design team worked around it and created an open concept kitchen with all new appliances, flooring, countertops and fixtures.
The countertop and backsplash are composed of Caesarstone Calcatta Nuvo and blend well with the rift oak flooring and cabinetry. A Liebherr French door refrigerator, Miele hood, Marvel Wine Cooler, Wolf cooktop and oven, and a Sharp microwave give this updated kitchen some serious cooking power.
The downstairs powder room got an upgrade to include a shower wall and tiled floor with a drain so the homeowner can shampoo her dog easily.
A modern twist, stainless steel railings and lighting makes the updated staircase to the second floor something special. The living area got an upgrade as well with new windows, flooring, custom heating/cooling unit covers with built-in benches, custom built-in cabinetry and lighting.
Next week: the upstairs spaces revealed, including a luxurious master bedroom suite and bath.
