‘Tis the season to shop, shop, shop! If you’re still searching for the perfect, last-minute holiday present, the team of architectural and interior designers at Archetype Design Studio have some great suggestions to make you champion of the gift givers! These are sure to put a smile on your recipients face. But maybe gift yourself, too?

Let’s say you’ve been thinking about replacing your coffee table but just never found the right one or the time to do it. Architectural designer Anna found an affordable but chic coffee table on Wayfair. “I like the mix of materials, the glass and brushed nickel metal, and the geometric shape.”

If the coffee table idea is too formal, or you have little ones running around, try a fabric pouf instead! “I like the different textures. You can use it as table or as a seat, so I like the versatility of it. The one I like is from West Elm . The Collage Pouf is handcrafted,” says Keila, a member of the architectural design staff. “It would be a great accent.”

Robin, our office manager and arbiter-of-good-taste, recommends a beautiful throw. “This time of year, it’s nice to feel cozy. A luxurious cashmere throw is a great gift,” she says. She likes the 4-ply cashmere throws (60″ x 72″) with fringe from Anichini.

Alan has his eye on two of these antique fireplace mantels, overmantels and surrounds for his Harlam home. “Classic, turn-of-the-century oak mantels which would look lovely in my restored 1891 Striver’s Row townhouse.

Anjali would love a steam shower. However, that’s hard to gift wrap. A personal humidifier will suffice. “This one from Sharper Image has clean lines,” she says. The design works in almost any setting.
